Collateral Damage

A moment of silence for one of the greats … Vincent DeDomenico

October 23, 2007 · 3 Comments

Mr. DeDomenico was co-inventor of Rice-A-Roni. Great name. Greater jingle. Any readers actually either purchased or consumed Rice-A-Roni? Mrs. CD and I never have. It’s one of those things that’s always around but we’ve never used. The stuff must be health food, Mr. D was 92.

Oh yes. This was lovely stuff and one of my occasional binge foods, as was Minute Rice. Gotta love that San Francisco treat!

We ate it occasionally back in the ’70s as a side dish to something or other my mother made with frozen fish and a can of Campbell’s soup. Ah…the 70’s!

    Dood, Peg Bracken died, too.

    My culinary muse.
