Nice Post. Just like a graph the numbers can be adjusted to show just about anything. I thought the Toys R Us post was funny since I worked there years ago. I used to ask them why they had piles of crappy toys nobody wanted and why the ones people wanted they rarely got. I was told "They just send us stuff from the warehouse and we get what we get." Way to run a business. If it wasn't for all the subsidies given to corporations they would all be epic fail and mom and pop can make a living again.

I do believe that we have reached the stage in the history of humankind where the "spin" of the news ALWAYS exceeds the "facts" of the events. It makes me wonder if it was a PR agency that declared the winner of the Battle at Agincourt. And was Napoleon really defeated at Waterloo?

I wonder if my grandchildren could imagine grandpa running around CBGB's in fishnets, thigh-high boots and a leather leotard ? Upstairs at Max's, Gildesleeves, TRAX, the Paladium, did it get any better ? God did we have fun !

Ummm... While Eggos are a brand name, pumpkin, is not. I can confirm that my local market has more canned pumpkin than you can shake a waffle at.

Normally, I wouldn't even fire one synapse in this direction, but aren't "shortages" blamed on certain "natural disasters" a great way to jack up prices and create demand without inflaming the masses? I mean, I even considered hoarding a few cans just in case I could pimp some of it out to my soccer mom posse at a profit. Pumpkin profiteering. Has a ring to it. Actually, sweet potato pie is my holiday staple. Crap! Shouldn't have mentioned it. Now sweet potatoes are going to go missing or get the rot or something...
