This was one of those rare years when the Super Bowl game outshone the Super Bowl ads. While the Pittsburgh Steelers kept viewers interested by threatening a historic comeback, many of the TV spots felt like reruns, ad agency executives told

“The advertising was OK. It was less impactful than in years past,” said Rob Scalea, CEO of the Americas for The Brand Union. “[The ads] can’t always be breakthrough—after a few years that runs its course.”

Footie fans not content with celery, now throwing powdered soap

RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) – Angry Corinthians fans carrying brooms and boxes of soap powder ran on to the pitch during training on Friday and forced the session to be called off.

Now there’s a branding opportunity.  Be the official soap of angry football fans. C’mon sponsorship!

Damn, best we can do here in the States is when Red Wings fans throw an octopus on the ice.

Put down the vegetable and come out with your hands up, part 2: Footie club busts three for celery throwing

This story just gets better and better (see original post here).

Chelsea have banned three of their fans after they were caught throwing celery during the team’s FA Cup win at Tottenham Hotspur … Two of them were arrested for throwing celery during the quarter-final replay on March 19, while a third was spotted throwing the vegetable and later identified to the club.

That means somewhere out there we have a celery snitch.
